Nerang (Post Code: 4211)
Nerang was formed in 1863 and is situated alongside the river from which it inherited its name from. It is a suburb of the Gold Coast and is positioned approximately 15km from Surfers Paradise.
The river is a popular destination for fishing, boating activities and picnics. One of the most popular spots for fishing is a platform located at Arthur Earle Park. With easy access to the magnificent Gold Coast beach front; Nerang offers residents a multitude of leisure activities that rival anywhere in Australia. On top of this there is easy access to a wide range of shopping and commercial businesses.
Moving away from the beaches, the suburb is also a gateway to the massive Gold Coast Hinterland Rainforest. This natural phenomenon is a heritage listed and protected area that is managed by the national parks service. You can find waterfalls, waterholes, valleys and a famous ‘Natural Bridge’ that has been formed over the Nerang River.
Being part of the greater Gold Coast region, Nerang is within easy access to public transport, having its own train station and good bus services. Schools are abundant in the suburb catering to both the public and private system. In the outlaying suburbs are further schooling choices for young families.
Post school study is also catered for with two major universities approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the Nerang city centre - Griffith University and CQ University.
Since the 1970’s the areas growth has boomed and it continues to see the benefits of further development, in conjunction with the Gold Coast as a whole.
